Here's my thing. Being in the now is just as important as being in the know.

Know. Your. Status.

In last week's podcast episode, I interviewed Justin Crosby who serves as a public health advocate. Until that day, I never really knew much about getting the sex education I needed. I never went in for tests or anything unless it was readily available on campus which it always isn't. I didn't care of myself. Self-care is not only about netflix and eating pizza, but it's also taking care of your health.

I came out on air saying that I never actively get tested which is major. I feared that there would be something wrong with me, but public health centers in SF are not out to kill us. They're literally only here to help us in getting the care that we need. Getting tested was not a constant conversation in my life. I was never really around other LGBT people.

Our sexual education excludes the LGBT community because it focuses on reproduction. It doesn't focus on pleasure or anything else from the charmed circle. This left a lot of us to seek education else where.

Get tested because it's preventative and self care which is what are millennial culture pretty much invented. Take care of yourselves!
